Surviving Pharmacy Day Gleefully~

Glee Rangers~

Addiction!! Addiction!! I should have left my Glee at home 'cause this is a disaster, struggling like a Survivor, sorry I cannot resist. Thanks to my friends and cousin, I'm addicted to Survivor: Samoa and Glee at the same time in this final year of my course!! How should I survive this? Well, who cares? I don't really give a damn in my studies that much during the other semesters.

Somehow, I kept on replaying the first season episodes of Glee and I got the first episode of the second season from Annaliza. I'm kinda addicted to the songs in Glee and kept on replaying them as well. My housemates would very likely be irritated and would wanna kill me but I just can't stop playing the songs. Furthermore, they're old songs covered by the Glee casts, fueling them with more reasons to kill me. Glee was not the only series that caught my attention. Survivor: Samoa was another. It was a long time since I last watched this reality game show.

Puck: Dude, your mouth is huge. How many tennis balls can you fit in there?
Sam: I don't know, I've never had any balls in my mouth. Have you?

Speaking of Survivor and games, the last weekend of September 2010 was my faculty's Pharmacy Day. I participated because I'm already a final year student and it would likely be my last time participating in such an event (station games). This also meant mingling with students from other years. I learnt that the newest batch of students consisted of only 11 guys out of 80 something students. I'm not sure whether I should be happy or not.

Anyway, the event started off on Friday night, where we gathered at the orientation hall to participate in some activities. Sorting of groups / ice-breaking took place and I THOUGHT I heard my name called under Group 8. So I went to Group 8 and participated in most of the activities. In the end, overall my group lost and was to perform a dance accompanied by a hiao Korean girl group song (I was actually hoping for Bad Romance so that the dance moves wouldn't be too graceful and wouldn't be too programmed). Initially there was another guy in my group but he left prior to the dance and so I was the only male member in that group to dance that song. After that, we went for lantern walk around the campus.

The next morning, we gathered at the sports complex for the Pharmacy Day. Then, I realised I was actually sorted into Group 3, means I shouldn't have to dance the night before~ !@#$%^&*. Nevermind. So I went to Group 3, but the members weren't as welcoming. After the oath-taking, I learnt that all my classmates jumped groups, so I did the same. We jumped to Group 8. So the game began.

this girl seems to be enjoying being mummified~

Station by station we went. Different tasks were to be done in each station. I was glad that there was a station at the swimming pool involving water. At least I can contribute a little to my group since I can swim. One of the greatest activity was getting dirty at a station where we had to pick up sweets using our mouths from a flour mount. It was simple but fun. The gamemasters were rather cruel to us, so I took my revenge on one of them by spatting a mouthful of flour at his face. After that, I ran as fast as I could.

It was a great day and I really had a great time though my housemate said it was just OK. Anyway, it cost me a lot. I had to get an ATT jab due to my soles bleeding and I skipped one full day of class because I was too tired with muscle cramps secondary to running away from that speedy gamemaster that I spat on.

Hello, hello baby you called?
I can't hear a thing
I have got no service
In the club, you see, see
Wha-Wha-What did you say,
Oh, you're breaking up on me
Sorry, I cannot hear you
I'm kinda busy.

K-kinda busy
K-kinda busy
Sorry, I cannot hear you, I'm kinda busy.

Just a second,
It's my favorite song they're gonna play
And I cannot text you with
A drink in my hand, eh
You should've made some plans with me,
You knew that I was free.
And now you won't stop calling me;
I'm kinda busy.

Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna think anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.
Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna talk anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.

Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
Stop telephonin' me!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
I'm busy!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
Stop telephonin' me!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

You can call all you want,
But there's no one home,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!
Cuz I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

Call when you want,
But there's no one home,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!
Cuz I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

Boy, the way you blowin' up my phone
Won't make me leave no faster.
Put my coat no faster,
Leave my girls no faster.
I shoulda left my phone at home,
'Cause this is a disaster!
Callin' like a collector -
Sorry, I cannot answer!

Not that I don't like you,
I'm just at a party.
And I am sick and tired
Of my phone r-ringing.

Sometimes I feel like
I live in Grand Central Station.
Tonight I'm not takin' no calls,
'Cause I'll be dancin'.

'Cause I'll be dancin'
'Cause I'll be dancin'
Tonight I'm not takin' no calls, 'cause I'll be dancin'!

Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna think anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.
Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna talk anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.

Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna think anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.
Stop callin', stop callin',
I don't wanna talk anymore!
I left my head and my heart on the dance floor.

Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
Stop telephonin' me!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
I'm busy!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh
Stop telephonin' me!
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

Can call all you want,
But there's no one home,
You're not gonna reach my telephone!
'Cause I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

Call when you want,
But there's no one home,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!
'Cause I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

My telephone!
M-m-my telephone!
'Cause I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

My telephone!
M-m-my telephone!
'Cause I'm out in the club,
And I'm sippin' that bubb,
And you're not gonna reach my telephone!

September Weekends~

September weekends were the craziest ranging from traveling to playing. First weekend was supposedly a weekend in Penang. However, spontaneous events actually deviated me from being in Penang. Friday I drove back to Penang and was quite tired, so I thought I took a nap at 8pm and would wake up some time around 12am. When I woke up, it was already Saturday 8am.

Then, in the afternoon, I went out with Mercedes World - where? Bird Park, Butterworth. It had been quite some time since I last visited the park. The species of birds seemed to have decreased in numbers but the park seemed to be bigger than I could remember. Maybe because I was younger and smaller then. After the bird park visit, we went praying at the Raja Uda "Kao Boh Hoot" temple, then to dinner at Chai Leng park, having "lok-lok" and "wantan" soup. After all those, we headed to Sunway Carnival for "Step Up 3D."

After a Saturday in Butterworth, we headed home. My ex came over to Penang for projects, and I went over for a visit at the hotel. We chatted for a few hours till it was about 3am and then I went home. The next day, I took my ex to get souvenirs then we went to Taiping Zoo as there was nothing much left in Penang. After the Taiping visit, I headed back to SP for another week of classes.

So, generally, I was in Penang Island for less than 24 hours in total over the weekend, and I used the Penang Bridge once on Friday, twice on Saturday, and thrice on Sunday. Oh, and I watched Step Up 3D for 4 times in total - first time with Auntie Yang, second time with Pussy Keat and Beh TaHan, third time with Mercedes World, and last with Big Bern.

The following weekend was spent in KL. The main motive to go to KL was to meet up with someone, erm, special maybe. Things didn't turn out well, just because of some "mis-clicking" in sex. However, I did make some use of my time in KL to get some books and clothes, and also revisiting places of memories. Other than that, I got to experience how it was like to be in a special type of spa. Well, it was also a good time to "cuci mata" as there were a lot of "huu's" in KL.

Turn around
Every now and then I get a little bit lonely and you're never coming round
Turn around
Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears
Turn around
Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by
Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes

Turn around bright eyes
Every now and then I fall apart
Turn around bright eyes
Every now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight
We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
Cause we'll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time (all of the time)
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight
Forever's gonna start tonight (Forever's gonna start tonight)

Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do
A total eclipse of the heart

Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there's only love in the dark
Nothing I can say
A total eclipse of the heart

Turn around bright eyes
Every now and then I fall apart
Turn around bright eyes
Ever now and then I fall apart

And I need you now tonight
And I need you more than ever
And if you'll only hold me tight
We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right
Cause we'll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time (all of the time)
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight

NiNi Celupar Day & Beyond~

In the month of August 2010, two rather important events were up for me. One was NiNi Global's birthday, which was on the 16th of August, and it coincided with the other event - the first day of class of my semester. Well, maybe the latter wasn't that much of a pleasant thing to most of us but it was important nonetheless. Since 16th August 2010 fell on a Monday, we celebrated Global's birthday on the Saturday before it.

We had a hell of a time figuring which place to dine in for her day, but we ended up in Smoky Jack's at Upper Penang Road. Auntie Yang came up with the "Beyoncheq Telephone" theme based on a Taiwanese parody of Lady Gaga's Telephone where the Beyoncé looks very much like Earth. Girls were to wear skirt or dress that night. The evening at Smoky Jack's was pleasant and the food we had there were good.

After that, the plan was to head over to Church Street Cafe to have the famous Snow Beer. However, we were there too early as the mugs weren't chilled enough. We had to wait for about 3 more hours if we wanted to have it, so we changed plan. We went to some sort of a cafe called Jemputree. There, we just lingered till it was time to head back.

Monday came and it was time to start another sub-journey in AIMST again. Funny it seemed that I felt excited to attend this semester. Maybe it was because I was actually in my final year now or was it because there was Clinical Pharmacy this semester, I couldn't tell. I really felt great even before I started class. At present, I'm still enjoying it though many things changed when the semester commenced. Friends become enemies, enemies become friends, alliances, politics, dramas, desperations, confessions, wounds healing, scars forming, etc etc.

We had to take six subjects this semester. Drug Modeling was not of my elective choice, I would have gone for Veterinary Pharmacy but somehow, though included as an elective paper, Veterinary Pharmacy was not offered. Geriatric Pharmacy was the other so-called elective paper. Forensic Pharmacy was included to introduce us to the laws of pharmacy and drugs in Malaysia. To my dismay, there was a business paper on Pharmacy Management & Entrepreneurship. My weakest field, even worse than physical exercise. I'm so gonna pester my cousin regarding this since he's a business admin expert.

Clinical Pharmacy seemed the most interesting for me among all, yes, even over Pharmacology. Somehow, Pharmacology was kinda dull for me as it kicked off with the topics on "Bioassay of Drugs" and the topics were taken by one of my least favourite lecturer. However, this lecturer was not the bane of our class. There was a new lecturer who actually looked down on our noses. He commented that private university students were hopeless. He wondered how we could survive until the final year without a habit of studying EVERYDAY. He even stated that he was going to leave soon because it was a disgrace to him and it would only ruin his reputation lecturing at a private university, teaching private university students.

So tell me, what is the use of a clever person with a brilliant mind who's done PhD and excelled academically if his/her attitude is in a way terrible and horrible? However, people love him because he's brilliant. Respect is what he got from all despite his sarcastic nature. Maybe he ought to use his brilliant mind to think about his own attitude. There was a Pharmacy Quiz coming up and he was to guide and prepare our students for the quiz. He scorned even the group of our best dean-listers stating that with students of our university's quality, we should consider NOT to participate. Well, in the end, our university won the first place. To sir, with love, au revoir~
